From a handy management tool resource website, I present the innovation adoption curve:

When business school students dream, they see themselves in the 2.5% on the far left. Despite not submitting to Facebook until 2009, still thinking Twitter is ridiculous, and only using a Blackberry Curve with no 3G, I too, very badly want to on the cool cutting edge. However, I don’t overpay for unproven technology, live in San Francisco, or use the phrase “mash up” to describe anything, so I cannot be described as an innovator.
I’ll have to settle for being an early adopter. I can even confirm my Early Adopter street cred: I am currently playing around with Google Wave. Are you not impressed?
The downside to being on the almost-cutting-edge of technology? There aren’t that many other people around. With a tool like Google Wave, more is definitely merrier. So for now I will just have to procrastinate with Google Wave by myself. Anything to avoid cover letters and studying macro-economics.
